First phase of sculpting work on figures ....

 The first phase of sculpting figures done.  Samurai and Ashigaru greens along with some Steve Barber figures for comparison.

Lots to do to finalise the detail the sculpts, fix snags etc. Also have to make more accessory items - swords, spear blades and quivers.

Initial sculpting ...

Initial sculpting was to do some weapons and accessories - sashimono, yari and ningata

Followed by a suitable horse (based on my one pose does all horse)...

Project start-up...

I've been interested in Samurai and warfare in the Sengoku period for some time; so finally have decided to take the plunge.

Initially I have decided to wargame the period using 40mm figures; the current plan is

• The lovely Steve Barber Miniatures range for command and special figures  (ninjas, civilians etc)
• For rank and file sculpt and cast my own Samurai and Ashigaru figures along with some accessories.
